ASME B30.26 provides a relevant reference for rigging blocks where its scope and the destination market apply. Confirm conformity against the applicable edition before making a compliance claim.
Testing Standards: Check the sheaves, grooves, side plates, pins, swivel fitting and bearing arrangement against the approved specification. Verify free rotation, secure side closure and the rated load through the applicable inspection and test plan. Retain results with the block’s identification and issue product-specific documents according to the verified records.
Application Standards: Match the block rating, rope diameter and connection to the complete lifting or pulling system. Calculate the force acting on the block and anchor for the actual rope directions and reeving arrangement; do not select the block from the suspended load alone.
