Anchor Type
Spek Anchor is a conventional stockless marine anchor developed from the Hall Anchor and widely used as a bow anchor on commercial ships. The optimized fluke geometry and lower center of gravity allow the flukes to penetrate the seabed quickly while fitting completely inside the anchor pocket after recovery. Standard weights range from 100 kg to 26,000 kg, with compatibility for 12.5 mm to 162 mm stud link anchor chains. The anchor is manufactured from marine-grade cast steel and can be supplied with ABS, BV, CCS, DNV, LR, NK, KR, RINA, IRS, and RS certification.
Spek Anchor is a stockless bow anchor designed for merchant ships, tankers, bulk carriers, container vessels, cruise ships, and offshore support vessels. Compared with the traditional Hall Anchor, the Spek Anchor features an improved fluke profile and a lower center of gravity, allowing the anchor to rotate into the correct working position more quickly after reaching the seabed. The balanced design also enables the anchor to fit neatly inside modern anchor pockets, reducing hull interference during anchor handling.
The anchor is manufactured from marine-grade cast steel (ZG200-400C or equivalent) through casting, heat treatment, machining, dimensional inspection, and proof testing. Standard production covers 100 kg to 26,000 kg, while customized weights and dimensions can be manufactured according to vessel requirements. The anchor is compatible with stud link anchor chains, end shackles, Kenter shackles, and swivel groups, forming a complete anchoring system for commercial marine applications.
The flukes are designed to penetrate efficiently into mud, sand, clay, and mixed seabeds, providing stable holding performance while allowing smooth recovery. During retrieval, the flukes naturally rotate toward the hull, minimizing contact with shell plating and facilitating storage within the anchor recess.

Manufacturing Standards: Manufactured in accordance with CB/T 711-1995 (Type 95 Spek Anchor), CB/T 3983, IACS Unified Requirement A1, ISO 1704, and the applicable requirements of ABS, BV, CCS, DNV, LR, NK, KR, RINA, IRS, and RS. Products are manufactured from marine-grade cast steel using approved casting, heat treatment, machining, and inspection procedures.
Testing Standards: Each anchor undergoes chemical composition verification, casting inspection, dimensional inspection, suspension testing, proof load testing, mechanical property testing, visual inspection, magnetic particle inspection (where applicable), and permanent identification marking before shipment. Material certificates, inspection reports, and classification society certificates are available upon request. The completed anchor shall meet the suspension requirements specified in CB/T 711-1995.
Application Standards: Suitable for container ships, bulk carriers, oil tankers, chemical tankers, LNG carriers, cruise ships, general cargo vessels, offshore support vessels, dredgers, and other commercial ships operating on sand, mud, clay, and mixed seabeds. The anchor is designed as a stockless bow anchor compatible with modern anchor pocket arrangements.
Maintenance Standards: Inspect the anchor regularly for fluke wear, shank deformation, pivot pin wear, casting defects, corrosion, coating damage, and identification markings. Verify that the flukes rotate freely without excessive clearance. Inspection and maintenance should comply with the vessel's planned maintenance program and the requirements of the applicable classification society.
