Stainless Steel Grade 60 Chain Sling is manufactured from stainless steel lifting chain with Grade 60 performance. Available in single leg, double leg, three leg and four leg configurations, it is designed for lifting applications requiring corrosion resistance and reliable load capacity. The chain sling is suitable for marine, offshore, food processing, chemical and industrial lifting environments.
Stainless Steel Grade 60 Chain Sling is a lifting assembly consisting of stainless steel lifting chain and matched load-bearing components such as master links, connecting links, shortening devices and lifting hooks. It is available as single-leg, two-leg, three-leg and four-leg assemblies, with the chain diameter, effective working length and end fittings selected according to the load and lifting arrangement.
The Grade 60 system is intended specifically for slinging and lifting loads. Selection of the sling must consider not only the load weight but also the number of loaded legs, sling angle, load symmetry, temperature and operating environment. The WLL marked on the identification tag must not be exceeded.
1-Leg: The lifting point should be vertically above the load's center of gravity.
2-Leg: The lifting points should be positioned on both sides of the center of gravity.
3-Leg / 4-Leg: The lifting points should be distributed around the center of gravity to achieve controlled load distribution.
For multi-leg assemblies, the inclination angle β must be greater than 15° and must not exceed 60°.
Full rated WLL applies from -40°C to +250°C.
From +250°C to +350°C, the permissible WLL is reduced to 75%.
From +350°C to +450°C, the permissible WLL is reduced to 50%.
For AISI 318LN Duplex components, the maximum stated operating temperature is 350°C.
Use in acids, alkalis or their vapors requires confirmation of material resistance for the actual chemical environment.
Chain legs must not be twisted or knotted.
Hooks must carry the load in the hook saddle, not on the hook tip.
Shock loading and jerking of the load must be avoided.
When used in a choker hitch, the rated WLL is reduced to 80%.
Where equal load distribution between sling legs cannot be ensured, the applicable WLL must be reduced according to the asymmetric loading conditions specified in the operating instructions.
For applications exceeding 20,000 stress cycles, such as automated production and repetitive material-handling operations, the sling requires additional consideration for dynamic loading. The manual references DIN EN 818-7, mechanism group 1Bm/M3, and recommends reducing stress through appropriate chain sizing for high-cycle service.
